Have you ever wondered if the egg you are about to eat is fresh?
I know I have! Here are some useful tips to help you determine if that yummy egg really is yummy!
Step 1) Get a bowl, or glass jar and fill it half way to the top with water, make sure the water is about two times colder than the egg.
Step 2) Place the egg in the water-
Does it fall to the bottom and lay on its side, yes? Excellent! This is just the way we want our eggs... nice and fresh!
Does it fall to the bottom and ‘bob’ around a little bit, yes? That means this egg is about a week old. Still okay to eat.
Does it fall to the bottom and balance on the smallest tip, yes? That means this egg is about three weeks old-I personally do not want my eggs any older than this!
Does it come straight to the top of the bowl or glass jar, yes? Then this egg definitely needs to be thrown out.
This is a good egg!
This egg is older than three weeks!
